Hunting
Rex and I returning to camp while hunting Rocky Mountain Goat in the Valhalla range. Lots of climbing, no goats above or below the trees, really fun skiing back to camp. Rex had not been in Canada for more than two days before this, and had scarcely seen snow. He was on snow shoes which is much more work than skiing home. To truly experience winter he manage to get a mild taste of hypothermia after sweating out the hike. At least he didn't fall off bridges 3 times from 2 crossings like our photographer....

The Annual Tulameen Family Hunt
Cam's first Deer
My cousin Cam poses with his first mule deer along with our late grandpa and Clancy, and myself. This was on our annual family Tullameen trip and taken south of Princeton.

My first Mule deer taken during our inaugural Tullameen family hunt.
Cam's first Deer
Another shot of what was the only deer taken this year with the two who actually got the animal to the vehicles.

Whitetail Amateur
My first Whitetail taken less than 1km from home using my great-grandmothers .303 with a bent scope. It was awesome watching this rutting buck pester a couple does in the fresh snow and then seeing my pescatarian friend 'help' clean the animal. We enjoyed a nice roast with the pescatarians for our first dinner together. Turning any of these holier than thou diet folks to meat is probably the greatest feat a hunter can achieve. My favorite dish was the duck and deer Vindaloo we took to Ymir Yurts skiing, particularly when topped with a lasagna floater!
Tasmanian Fallow Deer Hunt
Rex in fine form. Full bandolier, Winnie Reds, Boags Draught. This bugger was terrorizing camp 24hrs a day, and the Possum was pretty flipping annoying too.
Gilly Suit was miserably hot, yet bugs could pass straight through. I did have a wombat pass within a meter with n more than a glance my way, so it worked. The Possum didn't make the menu, but wombat stew pretty much had to.
Looks like a floating rifle. And maybe a face.
The possum became food for the endangered Tassie Devils. This was way noisier and sleep disrupting than one could imagine.

Critics
Somewhat Skeptical Interference. The tingling Piri-Piri was a good venom scare for the masses.
Taste Test
Flipping tasty - just like Nando's. Not much meat, similar to croc taste, similar to frog texture. Many bones, like the meagre rib section of a chook. Better than the situation in reverse, and a dang good snack in a pinch.
